Prices

To support local partners directly, the safari and the Swakopmund community experience are priced and paid separately in the local currency. Together, they form one complete WildWifi experience and must be booked as a whole.

Prices are payable in Namibian Dollars (N$) to local partners. EUR amounts are indicative only (exchange rate as of [10.01.2026]). WildWifi acts as an intermediary; the safari and Swakopmund experience must be booked together as it is intentionally one experience.

FAQ's

  • No.

The WildWifi experience is designed as one complete journey and can only be booked as a whole.

The safari takes place at the beginning of the experience, allowing the group to bond through a shared adventure and get to know each other naturally before settling into daily life in Swakopmund.

This structure creates a stable group dynamic and avoids constantly changing group compositions — which is essential for a relaxed, low-friction community experience.

  • This expedition is designed for remote workers, digital nomads, freelancers, founders, creatives, and employees with remote contracts who want to combine meaningful travel with focused work. You don't have to call yourself a digital nomad or travel full-time to join this adventure.

    It’s for people who:

    • are able to work online

    • value community over crowds

    • love nature and adventure

    • want structure, but not rigidity

    • are curious, grounded, and open-minded

Most participants join solo. Feel free to join with your partner or friend.

  • This is not:

    • a party trip

    • a backpacker tour

    • a luxury safari

    • a typical coliving space

    • a typical coworking space

    • a “do nothing and be entertained” holiday

If you need constant comfort, room service, nightlife, or zero responsibility for your own energy and work rhythm — this probably isn’t the right fit.

  • No.

The expedition is designed for flexible remote work. Some participants work full-time, others part-time or asynchronously.

The safari part is intentionally not for work and experience-heavy.

The Swakopmund part is where you return into a more regular work rhythm.

You are always responsible for managing your own workload.

  • Yes.

Reliable WiFi is available at the guesthouse (~60 Mb, desk in private rooms), in selected cafés in Swakopmund or at the Desert Ocean coworking space (to be booked on own expanses). Swakopmund is one of the most stable locations in Namibia for remote work.

The safari part is intentionally offline or low-connectivity.

  • Moderate.

    You should be comfortable with:

    • camping (Floor tents, comfortable thick mattresses, sleeping bag, small pillow)

    • early mornings

    • long distance drives during the day

    • some hiking trips

You do not need to be extremely fit. Activities are adapted to the group.

  • Camping in Namibia is generally very comfortable. All campsites we stay at have showers and toilets with running water. You’ll sleep in ground tents (shared by default, with a limited number of single tents available) on thick, comfortable foam mattresses. A small pillow is provided. Our guides take care of the full camp setup and evening routine, including camping chairs, tables, firewood and freshly prepared meals — creating a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere around the campfire.

  • Yes, we cater for vegetarians and vegans. Dietary requirements are requested upfront.

  • We offer:

    • private rooms standard, ensuite (queen size bed)

    • shared rooms standard, ensuite (two people per room, twin beds)

    • premium room, ensuite (Two bedrooms, 1x twin beds, 1x queen size bed)

All ensuite and beautifully designed, comfortable, and suitable for remote work.

  • The accommodation offers limited self-catering options. There is no shared communal kitchen; instead, each room includes a small kitchenette with a fridge, kettle, basic cutlery, plates, bowls and a sink — ideal for preparing simple, cold meals such as breakfast.

  • As the accommodation itself does not offer breakfast or lunch, you’ll receive a daily voucher of 200 NAD (approx. €10) that can be used at three lovely coffee shops in Swakopmund. You’re free to order anything from the menu; if your order exceeds the voucher amount, you simply pay the difference. The voucher can be used for breakfast or up until lunchtime — a great option if you enjoy working from a coffee shop while using your daily credit.

  • Rooms are equipped with a work desk and chair, a small kitchenette with fridge, kettle and basic kitchenware (no microwave), a private bathroom with locally produced shampoo and soap, and a small terrace with table and chairs.

  • Absolutely.

    Most WildWifi guests join solo.

The experience is designed for individuals who want community without pressure.

    • Minimum: 6 participants

    • Ideal: 8–10 participants

We intentionally keep the group small.

  • It’s both.

The safari part is fully guided and structured.

The Swakopmund part is flexible and self-directed.

You always decide how much you participate.

  • WildWifi works closely with local partners in Namibia. For this reason, bookings are subject to the payment and cancellation terms outlined below.

    Deposit
        •    A 20% non-refundable deposit of the safari price is required to secure your spot.
        •    The deposit confirms your participation and allows us to reserve services with our local safari partner.

    Final Payment
        •    The remaining balance for both the safari and the Swakopmund experience is due 30 days prior to the start of the expedition.
        •    Failure to complete the final payment by this date may result in the cancellation of your booking without refund of the deposit.

    Cancellations by the Participant
        •    More than 30 days before the start date:
The 20% safari deposit is non-refundable. Any additional payments made may be refundable, subject to the individual cancellation terms of the local partners.
        •    30 days or less before the start date:
All payments made for the safari and the Swakopmund experience are non-refundable, as services are fully confirmed and paid to local partners.

    Minimum Group Size
        •    WildWifi requires a minimum number of participants for the expedition to take place.
        •    If the minimum group size is not reached, WildWifi reserves the right to cancel the expedition. In this case, all payments made by participants will be refunded in full.

    Travel Insurance
        •    We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance that covers trip cancellation, medical expenses, and repatriation.
        •    WildWifi is not responsible for costs incurred due to delayed flights, missed connections, or personal circumstances.

  • Yes, you’re welcome to extend your stay in Swakopmund. An extension at the current accommodation is possible subject to availability. Alternatively, you’re free to arrange your own accommodation for the additional nights.

The return transport to Windhoek, the final night in Windhoek before departure, and the airport transfer remain included and can be used on a later date of your choice.

If, for any reason, you choose not to make use of the final night in Windhoek, this portion cannot be cancelled or refunded.

  • You can find the cancellation policies here.

  • No, food is not included in the coliving event. It is a self-catering retreat. There are weekly BBQ's or Pizza nights we host but in general it is self-catered.

  • No, everyone is in charge of booking their own flights to arrive in time in Windhoek.

  • Please check the start and end dates listed on top of this page.

  • No, the minimum stay is one month. Weekly stays are not possible in any case.

  • No. To ensure a strong community bonding and less social battery stress we collectively start and end each coliving month the same day. Earlier arrival days due to cheaper flights are possible but no later arrival dates than the first official day of the colving retreat.

  • Yes, our coliving retreat has so much to offer that we would recommend staying at least two months. If you stay only one month you have FOMO and you join every weekend getaway to explore Namibia. But that narrows down your time in Windhoek. In the end, you will feel rushed through the month. If you stay at least two months you can have a nice mix of one weekend in the city and the next weekend exploring the country again.

  • Yes, please check out the COLIVING page. You'll see room pictures as well as photos of the communal and coworking areas.

  • Yes. You can share the room with your partner, friend or a person we assign to you. We try not to mix genders in shared rooms but if it does not add up we do mix genders.

  • No. The weekend-getaways are separate activities booked with our local tour operator partners. Please check out the WEEKEND GETAWAYS page to see the dates for each weekend getaway as well as the prices.

  • Yes, the Wi-Fi at the coliving is a reliable and stable fiber connection with up to 150 Mb. In general there are rare internet outages in Windhoek.

  • No, unlike South-Africa, Namibia does not have load-shedding nor is it common to have power outages.

  • No you can not wash your own laundry. We offer a convenient laundry flat-rate service for 25 €/month. If you give your laundry to the reception before 10 am it will come back to your room the same day washed and ironed.
